Friends of Cardiff Reservoirs (FoCR) aims to support the wellbeing of individuals and groups within the community.
We want to encourage a diverse range of people to benefit from the reservoir environment – widening access where possible, so that everyone can enjoy the health-giving benefits that are associated with being close to nature and in a friendly, supportive environment.
We work with community partner organisations to develop both one-off and regular activities. Some are open to all; others are for targeted groups.

Guided walks for community groups

FoCR walk leaders are available to plan a bespoke visit for your community group.
A tour usually takes 1 – 2 hours. Our volunteer leaders can tell you about the history, ecology and current activities (including volunteering), depending on the interests of your group.
Parking is available. The visitor centre includes toilets and a café.
There is no charge, but you may like to consider making a donation to FoCR. This is always appreciated!

Walk & Chat with Friends

Join Friends of Cardiff Reservoirs for gentle weekly Walk & Chat sessions around Lisvane and Llanishen Reservoirs.

Meet at the Visitor Centre Reception by 10am on a Monday morning. Enjoy fresh air, relaxed conversation, a gentle walk around the site, and maybe coffee and cake in the cafe afterwards.

• No booking is required.
• Open to everyone 18+ years.
• Especially supportive for mental and physical wellbeing.
• Fully accessible for all.
